  • First take 500 Grams Kidney Beans
  • Then take 4 Onions
  • Next take Same Quantity like Onion, Take 4 Tomatoes
  • Then take 4 Table Spoon of Vegetable Oil
  • Then take 2 table spoon of Anaardaana (dried Pomegranate)
  • Next take 1 table spoon of Coriander Seeds
  • Next take 1 table spoon of Cumin Seeds
  • Then take 4 Whole Dried Kashmiri Red Chillies
  • Next take 4 Green Cardamom
  • Then take 4 Cloves
  • Then take 1 Piece of Javitri
  • Next take 2 Black Cardamom
  • Next take 2 Bay Leaf
  • Then take 2 Stick of Cinnamon
  • Next take 1 table spoon of Dried Kasuri Methi
  • Then take 2 table spoon of Desi Ghee
  • Then take a pinch of Asafoetida (hing)
  • Next take 1 table spoon of Ginger and Garlic Paste
  • Next take 2 table spoon of Salt
  • Then take 1 table spoon of Finely Chopped Garlic
  • Next take half tea spoon of Turmeric Powder
  • Next take 2 table spoon of Degi Mirch Powder
  • Then take half tea spoon of Regular red chilli powder

Now let’s move to the simple to understand and easy to follow cooking instructions of rajma recipe.

Instructions for Cooking Rajma Recipe in Stepwise with Picture Help:

Step 1:-

Now, your first step, you took 500 grams of kidney beans (rajma), right?

So now, wash it perfectly under clean water for 2 to 3 times, so that the dust from rajma gets removes.

Once washing rajma done,

Now if you have time, then soak rajma for 6 to 7 hours in a fresh drinking water.

Or

If you don’t have this much of time, then simple add very hot water in the rajma and soak it for at least 1 hour.

In this much time, our rajma will soak water in them perfectly, and it will help us in saving cooking time.

Step 2:-

After 1 hour of rajma soaking in hot water, your rajma will get double of its size by soaking water in them.

Now, it’s time for boing rajma.

So here we have taken 1 cup of 500 grams rajma (kidney beans)

So take 4 cups of water. 1 cup rajma + 4 cups of water quantity for boiling.

So in a pressure cooker, add 4 cups of water and 1 cup of rajma and then add 1 table spoon of salt,

And then add half tea spoon of Kashmiri red chilli powder in the cooker,

Next add 1 black cardamom, 1 bay leaf, 3 cloves, 2 green cardamoms,

1 cinnamon stick and then add 1 table spoon of ghee in the pressure cooker and cover the pressure cooker and

First cook on high flame for 1 whistle, then on medium flame, cook rajma for more 15 minutes.

Total time for rajma boiling in pressure cooker for 20 minutes.

Step 3:-

Now our rajma is boiling in the cooker, so let’s move to the preparation of rajma gravy.

So take 4 onions and cut them in roughly sizes and make a smooth paste of onions using mixer grinder.

So the same with tomatoes also.

Take 4 tomatoes and cut roughly and make a smooth paste of tomatoes using mixer grinder.

For good texture and smooth gravy, all the 5 star restaurants use onions paste, instead of chopping them in finely sizes.

So you also do the same.

Step 4:-

Now let’s prepare the secret rajma masala powder recipe:

  • In a pan, add 2 table spoon of Anaardaana (dried Pomegranate seeds)

Dry roast anardana for few seconds, so that moisture of anardana soaked.

  • Next add 1.5 table spoon of Coriander Seeds
  • Then add 1.5 table spoon of Cumin Seeds in a pan
  • Next add 2 cinnamon sticks
  • Next add 8 dried whole Kashmiri red chillies
  • Then add 2 bay leaves in a pan
  • Next add 2 black cardamom
  • Then add 4 green cardamom
  • Next add 5 cloves (loung)
  • Next add 1 javitri
  • Lastly add half tea spoon of Salt

Now dry roast all these ingredients in a pan for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame.

In this much time, all the spices will activate their flavours and gives us best taste of spices in our rajma recipe.

Step 5:-

After dry roasting whole spices in a pan for 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame,

Now remove it from the gas stove and let the whole spices come to the room temperature.

Once done,

Now add these dry roasted spices in the mixer grinder and make a smooth powder like this.

Step 6:-

Now take a lagan or karahi or you can use a pan and

In that, add 4 table spoon of oil and 1 butter cube in the pan

At the same time, add 1 table spoon of ginger and garlic paste and cook for 1 minute on medium flame.

Step 7:-

Next add that 4 onions smooth paste in the pan and turn the gas flame to high,

And mix continuously and cook onion until it turn to little translucent and shiny pink colour.

Don’t cook onion until golden brown, because in rajma recipe, cooking onions till golden brown, gives you little bitter taste.

So cook onion on high flame for only until the onions get little translucent and shiny pink colour.

Step 8:-

Now in the pan, add half tea spoon of turmeric powder and

Add 1 table spoon of degi mirch powder and then add half tea spoon of regular red chilli powder.

Degi mirch powder gives nice red colour and also a spicy taste. So

For better taste like restaurant style rajma recipe, try to add degi mirch powder and regular red chilli powder also in the rajma recipe.

So, after adding turmeric and red chilli powder in the pan, cook for 1 minute on medium flame.

Step 9:-

Now add that 4 tomatoes smooth paste in the pan and at the same time add half tea spoon of salt also in the pan.

Adding salt in the tomatoes, will cook tomatoes early.

So now mix everything in the pan perfectly and cook tomatoes until you see gravy releases the oil in the pan.

Keep the gas flame to medium to high flame only.

Mix continuously and cook.

Step 10:-

Now time to add our secret ingredient in our rajma recipe.

So now add 3 table spoon of our secret rajma masala powder, which we have prepared in the 4th and 5th step.

Yess, add that secret rajma masala powder in the pan and mix and cook on medium to low flame for 1 minute.

After adding secret rajma masala powder in the pan, while you cook, watch, don’t overcook and don’t dry cook the gravy,

It will taste little bitter, that’s why, we have used 4 table spoon of oil and 1 butter cube for 500 grams of rajma recipe.

Step 11:-

It’s been more than 20 minutes and our rajma has boiled completely in the pressure cooker, right?

Let the steam come from the pressure cooker itself.

Next, now check and open your pressure cooker, and check rajma is boiled perfectly in the pressure cooker.

Now add this rajma boiled water in our onions and tomato gravy, which we have prepared till 10th step.

Add this rajma boiled water in the gravy and turn the gas flame to high and mix continuously and cook for 2 minutes.

Next turn the gas flame to medium and now

Add all the boiled rajma in our gravy and mix everything gently and cook this boiled rajma with gravy for only 3 to 4 minutes on medium flame.

Don’t overcook here rajma, or else, our rajma gets extra soft cook.

Step 12:-

While you cook, now add 1 table spoon of dry roasted kasuri methi in the pan.

Dry roasting kasuri methi, then using and adding it in the rajma recipe will you extra flavour of it.

So do exactly I share the recipe with you.

Mix kasuri methi in the rajma recipe and now add handful of fresh finely chopped Coriander leave in the pan.

Now, turn off the gas flame, because our rajma is done cooking,

And now let’s do the finely step, which is also very important, all the 5 star hotels do this.

Step 13:-

Now take a separate pan and in that add and Heat 2 table spoon of Desi ghee,

After 5 to 7 seconds, now add 2 dried whole red chillies in the pan,

Next add a pinch of asafoetida, 1 table spoon of Finely Chopped Garlic and lastly add half tea spoon of Cumin Seeds in the pan.

And cook for 2 minutes or until the garlic colour get little brown.

Once done, now turn off the gas flame and now add half tea spoon of red chilli powder in this tadka and mix

And directly, add this tadka in the rajma recipe and mix.

So our restaurant style rajma recipe is ready.

Brown Onion Jeera Rice Recipe:-

Brown onion jeera rice is onions + ghee + jeera + rice combination dish.

This brown onion Jeera Rice is Best Combination with all the veg and non-veg dished.

This is the shortest and simple about info of brown onion jeera rice.

Step 1:-

I am taking 500 grams of Basmati Rice.

Add basmati rice in the big bowl, so that, we can wash it perfectly.

Wash basmati rice for 2 to 3 times in a fresh water, so that the dust gets removes from the rice.

After you perfectly wash your basmati rice, now let’s soak it in fresh water for 30 minutes.

Doing this, will give you fluffy basmati rice. So don’t skip this step.

Step 2:-

Now take a lagan or big heavy bottomed bowl,

And then add 2 table spoon of Desi Ghee and Heat it for few seconds, once done

Now add 1 table spoon of Cumin Seeds in the ghee and let splutter for few seconds.

Next add 2 finely chopped onion pieces in the bowl and cook onions until they turn to nice golden colour.

Next add 2 Cloves, and at the same time add that perfectly 30 minutes soaked basmati rice in the bowl.

Add only basmati rice, don’t add water only, because we have give rice a flavour of ghee, jeera and brown onion flavour.

So after adding only rice in the bowl, cook for 1 minute on high flame.

Step 3:-

Now add 2 cups of water in the bowl.

Note:- in which cup you take rice, take that cup only quantity of water.

1 cup 500 grams rice = 2 Cups Water with same cup which you have used to take rice.

This is very important, take a note, while preparing.

After adding water in the bowl, now add 1 spoon of salt and mix everything in the bowl.

Step 4:-

Now cover the bowl with lid and turn the gas flame to high and cook rice for 2 minutes.

When you see the boil in rice, mix it again, now turn the gas flame to medium and cover the bowl with lid and

Now cook this rice for 9 to 10 minutes on medium flame.

After 9 to 10 minutes, you can the holes in the bowl, in that holes, if you water, continue cooking on medium flame.

If you don’t see water the holes in the rice, then slightly mix and again, cover the bowl with lid

And cook this again for 5 minutes on very low flame.

Tip number 1:-

So your first tip is, before you start cooking rajma recipe, I seriously want you to prepare or gather all the ingredients first.

Then chop all the vegetable, take the correct quantity of all the ingredients.

Sometimes after adding tomatoes in any curry, tomatoes releases their acidity, sometimes tomatoes won’t get cook nicely,

So, if this happens, you can add thick heavy cream at the end of your rajma cooking.

If you don’t like spicy food, then don’t use whole spices, like

When you boil rajma in a pressure cooker, and I have cooked 500 grams of rajma and brown onion jeera rice recipe for my 6 members family.

If you want to cook less quantity, then you less amount of ingredients quantity like spices.

But if you take 1 cup (500 grams) of rajma (kidney beans), then you have to tale 4 cups of water for boiling rajma in the pressure cooker.

For rice, if you take 1 cup (500 grams) of basmati rice, then take 2 cups of water, when you steam rice.

Here measurement is key, if you lose, you lose the restaurant style rajma recipe.

Tip Number 5:-

Use enough amount of oil in the rajma recipe.

Use only onion paste and tomato paste, don’t chop and use it in the rajma recipe, or else you won’t get smooth gravy in you rajma recipe.

Want less spicy, then use red chilli powder according to how much spicy you want.

In the last step of cooking instructions, I gave you guys tadka in the rajma,

This is very important, so don’t skip this tadka step, because when you use garlic before only in the gravy,

Then it won’t give much good taste it,
