And masala (paneer tikka masala) is, we prepare gravy with some ingredients, then this paneer tikka which we have roasted on fire is added in this gravy, and cooked for few minutes, then you will get Paneer Tikka Masala recipe.

But you guys want paneer tikka masala with tofu. Then simply you have to replace paneer with Tofu.

I seriously want you to first gather all the ingredients which we are going to use in this paneer tikka masala with tofu Indian style recipe.

Because I don’t want you to get stress during your cooking, because we have to follow Three Main Steps.

  • First step:- we have to prepare Tikka Sauce
  • Second Step:- we have to prepare Paneer Tikka
  • Third Step:- we have prepare Gravy

We have to prepare these steps carefully, and then you can cook Indian Restaurant style Paneer Tikka Masala with Tofu Indian Style Recipe.

So first gather all the ingredients first.

Ingredients in Paneer Tikka Masala with Tofu Indian Style:

  • First Take 300 Grams of Tofu
  • Next take 2 Table Spoon of Mustard Oil
  • Next take 1.5 Table Spoon of any Cooking Oil
  • Then take 3 table spoon of Gram Flour (Besan)
  • Next take 2 Table Spoon of Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
  • Next take 1.5 Table Spoon of Coriander Powder
  • Then take half Tea Spoon of Garam Masala Powder
  • Then take 5 Garlic Cloves
  • Next Take 1 Table Spoon of Cumin Powder
  • Next Take 2 Table Spoon of Hung Curd
  • Then Take 2 Table Spoon of Ginger and Garlic paste
  • Next Take 1 cup of Finely Chopped Onions
  • And Then Take 1 Cup of Finely Chopped Tomatoes
  • Next take Half Tea Spoon of Kasoori Methi
  • Next Take 1 Table Spoon of Cumin Seeds
  • Then take 5 to 6 Cashews Paste
  • Next take ¼ tea spoon of Sugar
  • Lastly Take Handful of Fresh Finely Chopped Coriander leaves for Garnishing.

Take all these ingredients for cooking paneer tikka masala with tofu Indian Style Recipe.

Trust me, this recipe is super easy to prepare and cook. Just follow my simple to understand and easy to follow cooking Instructions from Below.

Cooking Instructions for Paneer Tikka Masala with Tofu Indian Style Recipe:

Step 1:- First Let’s Prepare Paneer Tikka Sauce:

So here take a pan and in that heat 2 table spoon of Mustard Oil

And then add 5 finely chopped Garlic Cloves in the mustard oil. Cooking Garlic in Mustard Oil Removes the Strong Flavour of Oil.

So on Medium Flame Cook Garlic for 1 Minute.

Next Turn Off the Gas Flame and let the Mustard Oil Come to a Room Temperature.

Then add 3 Table Spoon of Gram Flour (Besan) in the pan and mix this flour in the garlic oil in the pan.

After mixing it perfectly, now turn on the gas flame to low and

Cook gram flour for 2 minutes on very low flame and mix it continuously.

This much time is perfectly enough to remove the raw flavour of Gram Flour.

Using gram flour in this paneer tikka, tikka’s will get perfect coating of the tikka sauce.

Next add 1 table spoon of Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder in the pan and mix it perfectly and cook on medium flame.

If you don’t have Kashmiri red chilli powder, then you can use regular red chilli powder, if using, then add only half tea spoon of regular red chilli powder.

Now turn off the gas flame and let this sauce come to a completely cook down.

Step 2:- Marination Paste

Now in a Separate Bowl, Add 2 Good Table Spoon of Hung Curd (thick Curd) in a Bowl.

Next Add Half Tea Spoon of Coriander Powder

Next add ¼ Tea Spoon of Cumin Powder

Then add ¼ Tea Spoon of Roasted Kasuri Methi

Next Add Half Tea Spoon of Salt

Then Add Half Tea Spoon of Garam Masala Powder

Next add 1 Table Spoon of Chat Masala Powder

Then add 1 Table Spoon of Ginger and Garlic Paste

Next add ¼ Tea Spoon of Black salt in a Bowl

And now Lastly Add that Tikka Sauce in a bowl, which we have made in the Step 1.

Now mix all the ingredients perfectly and you will get your Tikka Marination Paste.

Marination Paste

Here you can add Lemon Juice if you wish, but I prefer at the end when eating.

Now our Tikka Sauce is ready, so now let’s move to the third Step.

Step 3:-

Now add some Capsicum long Square shape cut pieces in the tikka sauce bowl.

Next add long cut onion pieces in the bowl.

And lastly add your Tofu Cubes. 2 inch size of tofu cubes would be perfect to grill and enjoy.

And now mix gently everything in the bowl and coat all the tikka sauce on Tofu Cubes Perfectly.

Now leave this for marination. Keep it for at least 20 minutes.

Step 4:-

Now take a separate pan and in the add 2 table spoon of vegetable oil. Or you can take any cooking oil.

Once oil is heated, now add half tea spoon of Cumin Seeds in the pan. Let it splutter for few seconds.

Next add 1 full Cup of Finely Chopped Onions in the pan and turn the gas flame to high and

Cook onion until it turn to little Golden Brown Colour.

You Can Continuously Stir in the pan, so that all the onion can Cook perfectly till golden brown colour.

Step 5:-

Now add half tea spoon of Ginger and Garlic Paste in the pan and turn the gas flame to medium and

Cook ginger garlic paste for at least 1 minute on medium flame, so that the raw smell of it get’s ride.

Once done, now

Add 1 full cup of Finely Chopped Tomatoes and at the same time add half table spoon of salt in the pan

Now turn the gas flame to high and mix tomatoes with salt perfectly, so that cooking time of onion stop

After mixing everything in the pan, cover the pan with lid and on medium flame cook tomatoes for 3 to 5 minutes.

Check if the tomatoes are soft or not, if not soft, then mash tomatoes with spoon and make soft and cook on medium flame.

Step 6:-

Now add Half Tea Spoon of Turmeric Powder

Next add Half Tea Spoon of Red Chilli Powder

Next add half Tea spoon of Coriander Powder

Next add half tea spoon of Cumin Powder

Then add half tea spoon of Dried Roasted Kasuri Methi

And lastly add ¼ tea spoon of Sugar

And now mix everything in the pan and cook on medium flame for 1 minute.

Now add half cup quantity of water in the pan and mix everything and cook for 5 to 7 minutes on very low flame.

Step 7:-

Now let’s grill our Paneer Tikka’s which are now ready to grill after marination.

So now take skewer’s and add 1 capsicum, 1 onion, then 1 Tofu Cube,

Then again add 1 Capsicum, 1 onion and then 1 Tofu Cube on the Skewers.

If you wish, then you can add tomatoes also on the skewers to make it look better.

Once you added all the paneer, capsicum and onion pieces on the skewers,

Now let’s grill them.

So first put something on the gas sides, so that, when you try to grill you paneer tikka,

Then the masala of tikka won’t spread on the gas.

And now roast paneer tikka’s on the gas like this:

On medium flame, roast paneer tikka’s perfectly till you see black colour dots on the paneer tikka’s.

If you have oven or griller, then you can grill paneer tikka on them also.

Now your paneer tikka is ready, if you wish, then you can enjoy now also paneer tikka.

But this blog post is about paneer tikka masala recipe.

So let’s move to the next step.

Step 8:-

Now let’s check the gravy which you were preparing till step 6.

So we were cooking gravy for 5 to 7 minutes, try to stir occasionally in the pan, so that gravy doesn’t stick to the pan.

Now, when you were adding paneer tikka on the skewers in step 7.

After adding all the paneer tikka and vegetables on the skewers,

If something left in the bowl like I mean to say this, tikka sauce,

Then add this sauce in this tomato gravy.

Trust me, if you add this marination in the tomato gravy and you cook,

Then you will get the best taste of your paneer tikka masala with tofu recipe.

Doing this, will increase the quantity of your gravy also.

Now turn the gas flame to medium and mix everything in the pan and cook for 2 minutes.

Stir continuously, so that it doesn’t stick to the pan.

Step 9:-

Now add 4 table spoon of cashews paste in the pan.

If you don’t like cashews, then you can add almonds paste also.

(Soak 10 to 12 almonds in very hot water for 30 minutes, then grind and you will get the almond paste.)

Don’t skip this step, adding cashews or almond paste.

Adding this paste will give the taste like top rated Indian restaurants recipe of paneer tikka masala with tofu.

After adding the paste, stir continuously in the pan and cook on low flame. Because this paste will stick to the pan.

Cover the pan and cook this for 5 minutes on very low flame.

Step 10:-

Now let’s add our star ingredient in this gravy. Which is paneer tikka.

But first let’s give it Smokey flavour.

So first remove all the tofu and vegetables from the skewers in a separate bowl

Then make a bowl with silver foil and in that silver foil bowl add firing coal and then add 2 table spoon of ghee (clarified butter) on the coal.

If you don’t have ghee, then you use Butter also.

When smoke is coming, then immediately cover the bowl and leave it for 5 minutes.

Then you will get the Smokey flavour in your Paneer Tikka, which is Now Tofu Tikka.

Once this process is done, now

In a bowl only cut tofu cubes to half, because they are very big now.

After doing this, now add this Smokey Paneer tikka (Tofu Tikka) in the tomato gravy bowl.

Mix gently, don’t be hard while stirring, or else your tofu’s will get break.

Now add handful of fresh finely chopped coriander leaves as a garnishing to this tofu tikka masala recipe.

After adding tofu tikka in the gravy, cook for only 2 to 3 minutes on very low flame.

 

Alright then, now your tofu tikka recipe is ready to be served and enjoy.

Pro Tips for Cooking Paneer Tikka Masala with Tofu Indian Style Recipe:

Tip number 1:-

For best texture, you can use extra firm Tofu. Before using tofu, press it well to remove the extra moisture,

Then use it in the paneer tikka recipe with tofu Indian style recipe.

Tip number 2:-

For more best taste of paneer tikka (tofu tikka), then you can marinate it for at least 2 to 3 hours.

In step 3 I told you to marinate it for 20 minutes, but if you have time, then keep it for more than 1 hour for best taste.

Tip Number 3:-

If you want more creamy texture of the gravy, then you can use tomato paste, instead of using finely chopped tomatoes.

Use fresh and red tomatoes for good colour and taste.

When adding tomatoes in the gravy, don’t forget to add ¼ tea spoon of sugar,

Because tomatoes has acidity, and sugar will the balance this acidity of the tomatoes in the gravy.

Tip Number 4:-

Use can use thick heavy cream instead of adding cashews or almond paste in this gravy.

I used cashews paste, because many Indian restaurants do the same.

Tip Number 5:-

Smokey flavour step is optional, you can skip, but if you want Indian style restaurant taste, then do it.

Don’t make gravy too thick or too liquidy.

Use enough water in the recipe to cook spices.

For more best taste, you can use store bought paneer tikka masala powder, instead of using Garam masala powder.

Tip Number 6:-

While you add vegetables and tofu on the skewers, you can experiment by adding more vegetables like Broccoli or Mushroom also.

If you wish, then only add. If not skip.
