  1. First take 1 Cup Chopped Pumpkin (kaddu) = Vitamin A Treasure (vitamin A ka Khazana)

  • ½ (Half) Cup Toor Dal = My favourite dal + loaded with proteins, which helps you to stay full and energised throughout the whole day.
  • 2 Table Spoon of Tamarind Paste or u can use Tamarind water, which you have to soak 4 inch piece of tamarind for 5 minutes in Half cup of water, then we will use it in the sambar recipe.

My Secret Ingredients in Sambar masala Recipe:

  • 1 Table spoon of Cumin Seeds (jeera) = good friend of digestion and kick out stomach-ache (pet ka dard bhagao).
  • 1 Table Spoon of Coriander Seeds (Dhaniya ke Daane) = vitamin boost + increases immunity
  • Âź (half of half) tea spoon of Fenugreek Seeds (methi k daane) = best for controlling sugar levels and maintains healthy blood sugar.
  • 5 (one and half) table spoon of Chana Dal = Loaded with Proteins and Increases the Flavour of our Secret sambar masala recipe.
  • 1 table spoon of Urad Dal = Same Benefit like above chana dal point
  • 3 Dried Red Chillies (sukhi laal mirch) = vitamin C Benefit with Smokey spicy flavours Tooooooo.
  • 6 to 7 Curry Leaves (karyapaak or curry patta) = cleaning of blood + boosts immunity
  • ½ (half) table spoon of Turmeric masala (Haldi) = helps in reducing swelling and kick out illness, laziness from our body
  • 1 table spoon of Fennel Seeds (Saunf) = reduces stomach gas + helps to digest food calmly.

  • 13 to 15 Black Peppercorns (kaali miri or kali mirchi) = Loaded with Nutrients and increases Bioavailability.

Tempering Heroes Ingredients in Sambar Recipe:

  • 2 good table spoon of any cooking oil, for best taste, use 1 table spoon of vegetable oil and 1 table spoon of mustard oil.
  • 1 table spoon of Mustard Seeds (Rai) = best king of tempering + that chutu putu sound
  • A pich of asafoetida (Heeng or hing) = Secret soldier of authentic samber magic
  • 2 Dried red Chillies = for extra kick spicy smokey taste in our sambar recipe.

King of Spices Flavours Ingredients in Sambar Recipe:

  • 1 table spoon of red chilli powder or you can take according to your taste.
  • Then take half tea spoon of turmeric powder
  • Lastly Take Salt According to your taste.

Ingredient in sambar recipe for touch of Freshness:

  • ½ (half) cup of fresh finely chopped coriander leaves.

So these are all the ingredients, we are going to use in my samabar recipe.

Instructions for preparing idli Sambar Recipe:

Step 1:-

Your First Step is: take that ½ (half) cup of Toor dal and wash it perfectly, until the whiteness dust gets removes from the Toor dal.

Then take a cooker and put it on the gas, turn on the flame and add those perfectly washed half cup of Toor Dal in the cooker.

Then add 3 Cups of Water in the cooker, and then add half tea spoon of turmeric powder and half tea spoon of salt in the cooker.

Close the cooker lid and cook Toor Dal until the dal cooks perfectly.

And I think it takes 15 to 20 minutes. Once done, check the toor dal in the cooker, if cooked perfectly, then leave it, if still didn’t cooked,

Then you can mash it with masher, but we need cooked Toor Dal for later.

So this is your first Step. Now

Step 2:-

Now, before cooking sambar recipe, we need sambar masala recipe, right? Yess

So let’s prepare our secret sambar masala recipe.

 

My Secret Homemade Sambar masala Recipe:

Take all these 11 Ingredients for my secret homemade sambar masala recipe:

  • 1 table spoon of jeera (cumin seeds)
  • 1 table spoon of coriander seeds (dhaniya k daane)
  • One and half (1.5) table spoon of chana dal
  • 1 table spoon of urad dal
  • 3 dried red chillies
  • 13 to 15 black peppercorns (kali miri or kali mirchi)
  • 5 to 6 curry leaves (kadi patta, curry leaf)
  • Half dried coconut (cut it into pieces)
  • 1 table spoon of Fennel Seeds (saunf)
  • ½ (half) tea spoon of turmeric powder
  • Âź (half of half) tea spoon of fenugreek seeds (methi k daane)

Now take a separate pan, and heat it for 3 to 5 seconds on medium heat.

Then add cumin seeds (jeera), coriander seeds (dhaniya k daane), 13 to 15 black peppercorns (kali miri k daane), chana dal, urad dal, curry leaf’s, fenugreek seeds (methi k daane), dried red chilli, dried coconut pieces in the pan,

And let them cook for 15 seconds on low heat, not more than this.

Then cool them down to room temperature, and then add these whole spices in the mixture grinder and now add half tea spoon of turmeric powder and 1 table spoon of fennel seeds (saunf) in the grinder,

And make a powder of that, that’s it guys.

This is now your secret homemade sambar masala recipe.

Now let’s move to the final step, which is cooking our rich 7 vegetables healthy sambar recipe.

Instructions for Cooking Idli Sambar Recipe:

  1. First, take a kadai, put it on the gas, turn on the flame, and add 2 good table spoon of cooking oil in the kadai.
  2. Add 1 table spoon of mustard seeds (rai) in the kadai and let them splutter (chutu putu)
  3. Then add 6 to 7 curry leaves (kadi patta) in the kadai
  4. Next add 2 dried red chillies in the kadai
  5. Now add that 1 finely chopped pearl onion or u can add 1 finely chopped normal onion in the kadai
  6. Cook onions for 4 to 5 minutes on medium heat, make them shiny and translucent.
  7. Now add those healthy chopped vegetables (pumpkin, bottle guard, carrot, drumsticks, French beans or green beans) according to their quantity, I given above, add those vegetable in the kadai and cook for 4 minutes on low heat
  8. Then add 2 chopped tomatoes in the kadai, now mix everything again, cook tomatoes for more 4 to 5 minutes.
  9. Now add that hero, half cup of tamarind water or you can use 2 table spoon of tamarind paste in the kadai.
  10. Next add the king of this recipe, that cooked toor dal in the kadai mix everything.
  11. Now add water, according to your desired sambar thickness. I add 3 to 4 glass of water. U can add according to your thickness preference.
  12. Mix everything well, and now add half table spoon of red chilli powder, half table spoon of turmeric powder, and salt according to your taste
  13. Now the prince of this recipe, which makes our sambar recipe even more delicious, now add that our secret home-made sambar masala recipe. Add only 3 table spoon of that sambar masala in the kadai.
  14. Final mix everything and cook for more 20 minutes on low heat
  15. Once done cooking, check all the vegetables cooked perfectly or not.
  16. If everything tastes good, it’s fine, if not, then adjust salt and other spiciness according to your taste.
  17. After your sambar recipes cooking done, Final step, time to add some freshness to our recipe, add half cup of fresh finely chopped coriander leaves on the sambar and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  6. Ghee tip: if you want your sambar to smell rich, then chef, you can use ghee for tempering, instead of any oil.
